Matches:
1.)Test defeated Sabu
2.)Sylvester Turkay & Elijah Burke defeated The FBI
3.)Kevin Thorn defeated Balls Mahoney
4.)ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley fought Rob Van Dam to a no contest
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Test opens up the show in the ring. He is pissed off that Rob Van Dam was voted into a match against ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley. Test feels like he is a winner and should have been in the match against Lashley. Sabu is his opponent this week on the program. Sabu got in his springboard elbow but he wasn’t able to get the win. Test delivers a big boot and hits a swinging neck breaker for the win.
2.Next up, we got a tag team match. Turkay and Burke were able to prevail over the FBI when Turkay forced Mamaluke with an arm bar.
3.Next week, Hardcore Holly will compete against CM Punk. Holly believes that Punk can not make him tap out.
4.We hear from Tommy Dreamer who says that he doesn’t have a death wish when it comes to wrestling the Great Khali. Dreamer isn’t going to stop until he knocks Khali off his feet.
5.Backstage, Rob Van Dam is thankful that Bobby Lashley put the title on the line tonight. He is also happy that Lashley got rid of Paul Heyman and Big Show from ECW.
6.The next match doesn’t actually have a finish. Thorn hit Mahoney with a back elbow in the corner and the match is stopped. Brad Armstrong, who is on commentary, believes that Mahoney may have broken his jaw.
7.Backstage, Bobby Lashley believes he is going to walk out as the champion because he has competed against people in every style.
8.Tazz conducts an interview with Vladimir Kozlov who says that he likes the ECW style, but he makes sure to point out that he can beat Bobby Lashley and Rob Van Dam.
9.RVD started off with a spin kick on Lashley, but the champ drives RVD down to the mat with a scoop slam. Lashley hits a spine buster and gorilla press slams RVD over the top to the floor. RVD battles out of a bearhug back in the ring and hits a springboard kick for a near win. RVD follows that up with a split legged moonsault but Lashley kicks out again. Lashley soon hits a Torture Rack back breaker for a near fall. RVD avoids a spear with a dropkick. Lashley avoids a the rolling thunder and clotheslines RVD on the floor. RVD avoids being suplexed onto the announcers table and manages to slam Lashley onto it. Lashley is standing on the table when RVD hits a moonsault off the middle rope! The referee decides to call the match over due to both men being hurt on the floor. The fans didn’t like that decision.
Final Thoughts:
They are really trying to get Test over a powerful heel on the ECW brand. Personally, I have never had much interest in the guy, but I feel like this is their best shot to get him over in that role. The show as a whole was rather uneventful. The only good match was the main event as everything else was just boring to me, really. I’ll give this episode a thumbs down.
