Matches:
1.)CM Punk defeated Matt Striker
2.)Marcus Cor Von defeated Cassidy Riley
3.)Elijah Burke defeated the Sandman
4.)ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Rob Van Dam & Test to retain the title
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.Kelly Kelly announces that she is bringing back the Expose, and she won’t be by herself. Matt Striker comes out before his match to tell her that she should be at home doing the dishes. He wants her to watch him take care of business tonight.
2.Late in the match, Punk hits a running bulldog but, Striker kicks out. Striker drives Punk down with a back breaker. Kelly ends up getting on the apron and decides to flash herself at Striker. That allows Punk to get a backslide on Striker and wins the match.
3.Marcus Cor Von destroyed Riley after hitting the Pounce! Yes, Cor Von is Monty Brown from TNA. Speaking of which, there was a TNA chant during this match.
4.Elijah Burke got some revenge from last week when he pinned the Sandman in under ninety seconds. Burke knocked Sandman off the top rope and got the pin with a handful of tights.
5.Backstage, Kevin Thorn cuts a promo about the Royal Rumble. He has black roses for the losers while he has one single red rose. That red rose means he is going to win the Rumble.
6.Lashley starts off the main event by sending Test into the ring post. RVD tried to steal a victory when Test returns to the ring but only got a two count. RVD hits his spinning leg drop off the apron onto Test. All three men are trying to get pin falls but they can only manage to get near falls. Test sends Lashley into the ring post and tosses RVD into the crowd. Late in the match, RVD hits the Rolling Thunder on both men and hits the Five Star Frog Splash on Test! However, Lashley is up and spears RVD! Lashley connects with a power slam and wins the match. After the match, Test knocks Lashley out with the championship to end the show.
Final Thoughts:
Aside from the main event, this show once again failed to deliver. The Punk/Striker match was rather boring to me and the other two matches were just squash matches. I understand that they are focusing on the main event scene, but that is literally the only part of the show that has an angle. It seems like they like to do one or two week angles. There just isn’t any reason to tune into the program unless you are a RVD fan, really. This show gets a thumbs down from me.
