End of show
My Take: The crowd was fairly dead for the opener but I didn’t think it was all that bad. The young guys Fear and Javi were given a chance to showcase what they bring to the table. They may have botched a few moves but they were able to hit some good high spots so it wasn’t a total waste.
Triple threat match would have gotten a higher rating if it wasn’t all about high spots and sick moves. In that regard it was a entertaining match but they were just trading sick spot after sick spot and their want any build to them. Still, a entertaining overall match.
The finish to Smith/Negro was horrible. It was painfully obvious that the referee could have seen that Negro was using the ropes as he was out of position on the pin attempt. Anyway, Smith looked really good in the match while Negro was just mediocre at best. For those who do not know, Harry Smith is DH Smith.
At the start of the number one contenders match, J-Train joined the broadcast table. He isn’t bad at announcing but he isn’t all that good, either. As for the number one contender match, I thought it was a very good tag team match. A good mixture of tag team wrestling, high flying, and brawling action. The crowd was rather dead for most of it, but it was a very good match.
I wish I knew the peoples name interviewing the talent, but this is the first JAPW show I have reviewed. All three promos shown were nothing special. They all were really simple and didn’t really offer much.
Rhino/Kazarian was a mediocre match in my opinion. Kazarian showcased some good offensive moves but I don’t think he matched up well with Rhino. The fans have really been dead for this show.
The lightweight championship match was a solid contest. Azriael easily got the most consistent heel reaction of the night and might just be the best overall performer so far in terms of wrestling and keeping his heat with the crowd. The fans seem to really not like the guy, and he loves it. Dogg was impressive and they put on a solid show for the fans.
Acid/Hart is easily the match to look forward to on this show. They had a fantastic match in 2004 for CZW under the same rules. The match this time around was a good street fight but all the interference kind of killed it for me. Their were several good spots but all the kick outs of the finishers was something I am never a fan of. That is a good way to effectively kill a good finisher. Oh well. The result of the match advances the Hart/Homicide feud which has been going on for quite sometime at this point.
The main event was a very good wrestling match. They had a few good high spots but they didn’t overdo it and they were placed nicely throughout the contest. A great way to close out the show. Lethal appeared to be on his A game for that match. I am looking forward to watching the Lethal/Rhino feud develop in JAPW. I thought Rhino cut a great promo to close out the show.
Overall, I thought it was a good show. A solid three way, a good tag match, a alright street fight and a great title match to close out the show. One of the better independent shows I have watched.
Thanks for reading.
