TNA Destination X 2011 Predictions
Later tonight at 8pm ET Total Non-Stop Action puts on Destination X. The event used to take place in March but has been switched to July for reasons I am not aware of. The idea of the show is to showcase the X-Division and to be honest the card doesn’t look all that bad. Starting with this pay per view and other mainstream pay per view events I will keep track of my record and all that for fun. Feel free to share your predictions if you wish.
I don’t know the match order, so I will just go with what I think the position of the matches will be.
#1 Contender X-Division Ultimate X Match:
Alex Shelley vs. Robbie E vs. Shannon Moore vs. Amazing Red
I don’t really care about Robbie E or Shannon Moore. I fully expect to see Shelley and Red do the crazy spots and carry the load in that regard. The favorite has to be Alex Shelley, who should get a singles push since Sabin is injured. So, I will pick Shelley to win the match and hopefully win the title down the road.
Open Challenge:
Doug Williams vs ???
OH CANADA… Petey Williams is my pick for the person to accept the challenge. I’m going out on a limb here and I’m going to say that PETEY WILLIAMS wins his return match and we all get to see the Canadian Destroyer return to Spike TV. A man can dream, right?
Winner Gets A Contract:
Zema Ion vs. Jack Evans vs. Low Ki vs. Austin Aries
This is a match I am really looking forward to. I don’t believe there is a wrong choice when it comes to picking a winner here. Hell, all four men should have a job with the company anyway. I don’t believe Ki will win mainly because he has had so many issues with TNA in the past, why he would go back on a full time basis would be kind of odd. Evans is busy with AAA I believe so I don’t think he would have a lot of free dates. So, that leaves us with Ion and Aries. I’m picking Aries to win the match because he is amazing. He is above average in the ring and is a fantastic talker. Why wouldn’t you want Aries on your roster?
Samoa Joe vs. Kazarian
It seems to me that Joe has been losing on a regular basis, so it’s not out of the question to see Kazarian win this match. Joe was dominate in the X-Division from 2005-2006 but a lot has changed since then. I’m picking Kazarian to win the match, though it’s sad how far Joe has fallen in TNA.
Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn
Perhaps the most overrated feud in the history of wrestling. Sure, they have had some good matches but this isn’t really a feud. Please, someone tell me the story behind these two? Lynn has beaten RVD once before, but I am sure no one even remembers that. RVD goes over here without a doubt.
For the TNA X-Division Championship
©Abyss vs. Brian Kendrick
There is no reason for Abyss to have this championship. It goes against everything that the X-Division stood for. So, I’m hoping Kendrick wins the title here.
Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles
I’m sure this will be a great match and I’m sure that Styles will go over. I wonder if Styles will be inserted back into the title picture possibly challenging Anderson next month. I doubt it, but we’ll see. I don’t know where Daniels goes from here, honestly.
So, there you have it. My rambling predictions for Destination X. I fully expect this to be a good pay per view since there really aren’t any bad workers on the show. I hope some people give this show a chance.
Thanks for reading.
